This Workshop is Especially for Beginners!
Are you yearning to paint realistic animals in watercolor but aren't sure if you can do it? Have you wished realistic painting could feel slower, clearer, more achievable?
This is it!
Every stage will be broken down in an easy-to-follow way, so you are never guessing what to do next.
You will Learn...
- Techniques for absolute beginners
- Holding the brush, mixing colors
- How to paint fur, eyes, noses
- In the final week, we will combine what you have learned to paint a realistic animal.
We Will Take our Time
- Lesson length: 30 to 45 minutes
- Lessons released every 2 or 3 days so you have time to practice
- A mix of live broadcasts and pre-recorded lessons

WEEK 1: Brush Techniques, Shapes, Lines, Color
Monday, March 23: Brush techniques, shapes and lines
Wednesday, March 25: Brush Techniques: Softening Edges
Friday, March 27: Color, Layering, Color Charts
WEEK 2: Fur, Eyes, Noses
Monday, March 30: How to Paint Fur
We will begin with simple techniques, then "fur recipes," for different color solutions.

Wednesday, April 1: How to Paint Eyes
We will paint a brown dog's eye and a green cat's eye, focusing on color mixing/layering and techniques.

Friday, April 3: How to Paint Noses
We will paint a dog and a cat nose! Learn to layer colors and manipulate values to create the impression of contour and curve.

WEEK 3: Paint a Dog
April 6, 8, 10: Combine everything you have learned to paint a dog! Rebecca will guide you through every step of the process. By the end, you will have your own painting!

What will I Learn in this Workshop?
- You will learn to paint eyes, noses, and fur. Then, we will put all of the techniques together to create an animal painting!
- Within these lessons, you will learn about materials, colors, and brush techniques.
- Focus is on painting detailed, realistic animals. If you like to take your time and create details, this week is for you!
How Will Instruction Take Place?
Some lessons will be presented as "live broadcasts" with replays available to watch later. Some lessons will be pre-recorded videos. It will be based on your input!
What if I can't watch the lesson on the scheduled day?
It's ok if you are not able to watch the lessons on the scheduled days. You can watch the video replays at your own pace until May 8, 2026.
How Long Will I Have Access to the lessons? You will have access to the workshop until May 8, 2026.
How much will the Workshop Cost?

When Can I Purchase the Workshop?
You can purchase the workshop beginning Monday, March 2, 2026.
Can I download the videos to my own computer?
The videos are not available for download. All courses are hosted on the School website and as long as you have a high-speed internet connection you can watch them as many times as you like during the length of your membership.
