What is the Price?
- If you are enrolled in our watercolor Membership, the price will be $49 USD
- If you are not enrolled in our membership, the price will be $79 USD
Why are there two different prices?
I want you to have access to all tutorials in our school to use as a guide in your painting. If you are subscribed to the membership, you have access to the tutorials, so the price will be lower.
What is the Paint Your Pet Workshop?
- Workshop extends over 7 weeks, from October 12 through November 24.
- Rebecca will guide you, step by step, as you create your own animal painting.
- Scroll lower to see specific dates.
The workshop is comprised of lessons and private, one-on-one feedback from Rebecca as you complete your painting.
Can Beginners take this Workshop?
If you are new to watercolor painting, this workshop may be too overwhelming for you. It is helpful to have some experience in this style of realistic painting.
About the Lessons
We will break the steps down into small, manageable parts. Scroll lower for a detailed lesson schedule.
- Rebecca will provide "live" lessons on scheduled dates.
- After a lesson is presented, you will have time to practice, work on your painting, and receive personal feedback from Rebecca.
- Lessons will be presented as "live" sessions beginning at 11 am EST. If you can't be there live, you can watch the replay videos at your own pace.
Note: We all work at different paces. It's ok if you get behind in your painting. You will have access to these lessons until December 18, 2026.

- Wednesday, October 14: How to create your drawing, transfer to watercolor paper

EYES, NOSE, MOUTH
- Monday, October 26 How to Paint the Eyes
- Tuesday, October 27: How to Paint the Nose, Mouth
- One-week break
FOUNDATIONAL COLORS
- Monday, November 2: How to create a pale map of colors - a guide so you can keep track of colors, lines, and shapes.
- One-week break
DETAILS, FUR, DARKER VALUES
- Monday, November 9: How to establish darker color, values, textures, fur
- Two-week break
FINISH YOUR PAINTING
- Monday, November 23: How to finish your painting, troubleshooting, making decisions
- Tuesday, November 24: How to Mat and Frame

When can I Purchase the Paint your Pet Workshop? You can purchase the workshop Monday, September 28. Space is limited.
When does the workshop begin?
The first lesson is Monday, October 12, 2026. The live session will take place at 11 am EST.
How does instruction work?
Rebecca will present live lessons on the subject(s) of the week. Then, you will work on your own painting. Rebecca will provide private, one-on-one feedback on your painting.
I can't attend the live sessions. Is there a recording?
Yes! Attendance at the live sessions is optional. You can watch the video replay at your own pace following the live broadcast.
Will the video lessons be available to watch over and over again after the class is completed? Yes. You will have access to the lesson replays until December 18, 2026.
What if I can't keep up?
It's ok if you fall behind in your painting. I encourage you to take your time. You have access to the lessons until December 18, 2026.

Space is limited so that I will be able to provide individual feedback on your painting.

How will the instruction take place?

- If you can't be there live, it's ok. You can watch the replay videos at your own pace.
What Will I Learn?
- You will learn each step in how to paint your own animal from the very beginning to the very end.
- A formula that you can apply to your own paintings.
- How to transfer the drawing to the watercolor paper, mix and layer colors, as well as brush techniques.
What size can the portraits be? Your painting can be any size that you prefer. We will discuss how to choose a size in the first week of instruction.
I’m still a beginner, should I wait until I have more experience? What kind of watercolor expertise is needed for this course?
This workshop is not recommended for beginners. It will be helpful to have some watercolor experience. If you are a complete beginner, it may overwhelming to take this workshop.
How will this be different from the tutorials in the watercolor school? This workshop is for people who prefer more assistance and personal feedback than the self-paced courses in the school. I will be able to provide instruction applicable to your subject and some feedback as you create your painting.
Will we be sharing our work in progress with everyone else? I'm shy about showing everyone.
Sharing your work in progress is optional. You and I (Rebecca) will communicate privately.

Hi! I'm Rebecca Rhodes, watercolor artist and teacher in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
My goal is to empower, encourage, and equip - to help you learn to paint detailed, realistic subjects in watercolor so you can use these techniques to develop your own unique style!
