Watercolor painting on vintage paper is a unique way to repurpose sheet music, newspapers, hymnals, or pages from an old book or dictionary. What a great way to honor what would otherwise be forgotten or discarded!
As a high school music teacher, friends would give me piles of old sheet music. I hated to throw them away, and began to experiment with creating watercolor paintings on these vintage sheets. I wondered:
- What supplies do I need?

- What techniques should I use to protect the paper?
- How can I create my own painting from start to finish?
After researching and practice (and more practice,) I've developed a formula to create vibrant and realistic watercolor paintings on any type of vintage paper!
